The two “Sister Islands” Grande Soeur and Petite Soeur are just a short boat ride away from the coast of my favorite island, La Digue. Grande Soeur can be visited as part of an excursion – and it’s well worth it, as the 84-hectare island boasts one of the most beautiful and secluded beaches in the Seychelles!
When I was there in February 2015 and took this photo, I was the only person on the beach. What a great experience! Next month I will experience the beach “much fuller”, because then I will be active again as a wedding photographer in the Seychelles and will experience, among other things, a wedding barbecue on Grande Soeur.
After the wedding on Robinson Island – the tiny island on the west coast of La Digue – the 20 guests of the German bridal couple will then “populate” the island of Grande Soeur and the dream beach. So the beach is really “packed” by Seychelles standards. This means around 25 people on around 8,000 square meters of beach. At the “Ballermann” on Mallorca, it’s probably more like 25 people on 8 square meters in the high season… 😉
After the barbecue, the entire wedding party will head over to Félicité Island and then go snorkeling on Coco Island in the late afternoon. As a wedding photographer in the Seychelles, you sometimes experience things “at work” that even some Seychelles vacationers can only dream of… 😉
