“That’s too blatant! How did the bride get onto the rock in her wedding dress?” This is probably one of the questions I am asked most often. And my answer to this is: “It depends!” 😉
“Did you photoshop the bride onto the rock?” For heaven’s sake – no! I don’t do that kind of “trickery”. If there is something really disturbing in the picture, I can retouch it (e.g. a dustbin) – but to “place” the bride and groom somewhere where they weren’t – no. Even if it is possible: I don’t do that as a matter of principle!
Some rocks are quite easy to climb – even if it may not look like it in some of the photos. With other rocks, however, it is a small to medium “slog” to get to the top.
The rocks, which are very easy to climb, can usually be climbed in full wedding attire. Of course, I’ll go ahead and show you the way. Of course, I am always ready to lend a helping hand! I will also be happy to take care of your “luggage” so that you can concentrate fully on yourself.
If I can’t get to know “my” wedding couples personally in advance in my German home in North Rhine-Westphalia, the personal meeting takes place a few days before the wedding in the Seychelles. We meet on site (usually for dinner together), talk about everything that interests you and I answer all your questions. Having photographed more than 200 weddings in the Seychelles so far (and another 350 or so weddings in Europe), I know that this can be a lot of questions. But go ahead! I am “the walking Seychelles wedding encyclopedia” and will be happy to answer your questions!
Once you have received all the answers you want from me, I will send you my questions. For example, I will ask you how “fit” you feel to climb and whether you suffer from a fear of heights . At a few photo spots, for example, you have to cross a narrow crevice to reach your destination. If this is not for you, then the “FOTOMANN Rock” as a photo motif. This is a shame, but not the end of the world – because La Digue (and almost every other island) has so many great photo spots to offer that we then head for a “more comfortable” alternative.
But back to the dress: If you feel fit enough for the “FOTOMANN skirt” I just mentioned, this means that you should pack your wedding clothes in a sufficiently large bag. Do you know these large, blue and yellow shoulder bags from the multinational furniture company founded by Ingvar Kamprad in Sweden in 1943? I don’t want to mention the four letters of the company name here so as not to advertise… 😉
In any case, these shoulder bags are perfect for storing lots of things. It is also ideal if you take a wedding dress cover with you, as this protects the dress perfectly. Of course, it’s a little awkward to hike through the jungle with a wedding dress cover and a shoulder bag – but no pain, no gain and therefore no mega-fancy wedding photos from the Seychelles where you’re standing on the bizarrely shaped granite rocks! 🙂
