Marta and Markus from Vienna got married on La Digue in May 2022 and booked me as their wedding photographer for two days. They were kind enough to answer 15 questions for me. Enjoy reading their answers!
That was no problem. Our travel agency registered the wedding dress with the airline in advance, the crew on board took it over without being asked and stowed it in a cupboard in the cabin. We flew with Emirates.
We started with a good breakfast to start our big day full of energy, stress-free and happy. After a short drive in the golf caddy to our wedding location, we were married on the beach under a cloudless sky by a very friendly registrar. After the ceremony, we toasted with coconuts to celebrate the day. Later, we enjoyed a wonderful barbecue on the beach and rounded off the evening together.
In Austria, obtaining the documents went smoothly. As my wife is from Hungary, we had to overcome a few obstacles for the formalities. However, this is not specifically related to the Seychelles, but is independent of the location of the wedding. On the whole, however, it was half as wild and definitely worth the wedding in the Seychelles.
2 days before the wedding we met our wedding planner on site and discussed the schedule for our special day. All wishes were taken into account and perfectly organized. It was perfect, down to the smallest detail and absolutely stress-free.
We found you through internet research and were impressed by the photos on your homepage. After our first phone call, it was clear to us that we wanted you to capture our big day in pictures.
The shots and the locations you chose are unique and absolutely perfect and are the perfect memory for us. Thanks to your experience, you know exactly which spots produce the best photos at which hour.
Each spot has its own flair and that makes the pictures unique. We particularly liked it on Praslin, where we had to walk through the jungle to get to this spot and, in our opinion, the most beautiful beach in the Seychelles.
Yes, pretty much all of them! Unfortunately, it was not possible to take photos at one spot, namely a waterfall, due to the heavy rainfall that had occurred the days before. You couldn’t even get close to the waterfall. It would simply have been too dangerous! This spot would have stood out beautifully from the beach shots.
We stayed at the Patatran Village Hotel and we can highly recommend it, if only because of the wonderful stretch of beach.
We were on La Digue, Praslin and Mahe. We definitely liked La Digue best, as the island is wonderful to explore on foot and by bike. You are independent of the car and can discover the island in all its beauty by yourself and without a car.
Both hotels were recommended by our tour operator that you had recommended to us (Lavigne-Reisen, absolutely recommendable) and we were not disappointed. We felt well looked after and comfortable in both places.
We would definitely like to visit the Seychelles again. On our next trip, we plan to get to know the island of La Digue even better and to experience and explore the island of Silhouette.
Because you are simply the best (and have an official work permit ;-)). We have also seen pictures from other photographers that in no way matched the quality of your work.
We would highly recommend the travel agency you suggested (Lavigne-Reisen) and encourage everyone to take advantage of your work and advice. We can only mention again how perfect our experience there was!
