May I introduce: Andrea and Gaston! You probably spotted the bride and groom among the rocks straight away, didn’t you? If not, click on the picture and you will automatically be taken to the larger version. By the way, that “black something” at the top of the picture is not a speck of dust, but a real Seychelles flying fox! 😀
The two extremely likeable North Hessians have been a couple for 16 years and have two growing daughters – so it’s high time they finally sailed into the harbor of marriage!
And why the Seychelles of all places? Each of “my” couples has at least one good reason for this. Andrea and Gaston have a real “story” behind them. Let me go a little further:
In 2008, the two took part in a radio competition. Together with another couple, they made it to the final and had to board a plane with the other couple on the same day, which took them to the Seychelles within 10 hours!
After landing, we went straight on to the posh Sainte Anne Beachcomber Resort on the island of the same name, Sainte Anne, off the coast of the main island of Mahé. When they arrived at reception, both couples had to answer an estimation question. The question was: “What percentage of the German population uses the phone on the toilet?”
Andrea and Gaston had to answer first. After a brief consultation, the parties agreed on 20%. The other pair then only had to answer “more” or “less” – and were correct with “more”. With tears in their eyes, Andrea and Gaston had to go straight back to the airport and get on the same plane they had just landed on an hour earlier! And this one flew back to Germany after refueling… 🙁 🙁
On the flight back, the two vowed to travel back to the beautiful archipelago one day, of which they had unfortunately seen little more than the airport. At the beginning of October 2013, I received this short email from them:
“We are currently planning our wedding in the Seychelles. Since only you are the perfect photographer for us, it would be great if you had time for us. Please let us know if or when you are available. Kind regards Gaston and Andrea”
So there you have it, the “perfect photo man”! Of course, that went down like oil. As a “thank you”, the two of them received the “ultimate photo package” from me: we actually spent five (!) days taking great photos together on La Digue! I would like to show you the first of the many hundreds of photos today. And believe me, there are many more to come in the coming weeks and months! 😀
By the way, Andrea and Gaston have only seen two of the many great pictures so far. You can pick up your “collected works” at the weekend here in the Lower Rhine region! And after the mulled wine at the Hamminkelner Christmas market, we’ll certainly treat ourselves to a Takamaka or two on the Fotomann sofa and chat about the wonderful wedding in the Seychelles … 😀
