Sandra and Torsten from Baden-Württemberg were the first couple I was able to accompany to the Seychelles after the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. They got married on 30.10.2020 on La Digue and were very lucky to be able to get married in the late morning on the deserted Anse Source d’Argent, probably the most photogenic beach in the world! Due to the pandemic, there were less than 20 tourists on the island at the time.
It wasn’t until the end of 2024 that I had the great idea of sending them my questionnaire. And lo and behold, they had filled it in just a few hours later. Thank you so much for this, my dears!
It had been clear to us for a long time that we would only get married as a couple and barefoot on the beach because we just wanted to enjoy the day for ourselves in a relaxed atmosphere and with a fantastic backdrop. It was thanks to Corona and Torsten’s good internet presence that we ended up in the Seychelles 😉
No, not at all. We just had to submit our international birth certificates and copies of our passports in advance and Torsten took care of everything else and passed on the data accordingly.
No, it was actually much more beautiful than we could have imagined 😉 Torsten works with the best wedding planner in the Seychelles and even the preliminary talk was totally uncomplicated and everything could be realized perfectly according to our wishes. Torsten was also super flexible when it came to the location of the wedding ceremony and our preferred photo spots, and the introductory meeting beforehand created a super relaxed atmosphere, which is priceless on such an important day.
Once it was decided that we would get married in the Seychelles, it was immediately clear to us that it had to be on La Digue. We first traveled to the Seychelles in 2013 and immediately fell in love with La Digue and since the wedding, the island has an even more permanent place in our hearts and even an engraving in our wedding rings. Since our wedding, we have been there twice more and are already planning our next visit.
We traveled with Emirates with a stopover in Dubai. We are very satisfied with the comfort, reliability and service of Emirates and have also flown with either Emirates or Qatar Airlines on our other trips to the Seychelles. On the trip to the wedding, the wedding dress was included in a garment bag as hand luggage. This was completely uncomplicated.
Our wedding was a dream for us and simply the perfect day! The first look in the morning was of course towards the sky and the weather gods were very kind to us, which relieved some of the tension. Then the stylist came to our accommodation to get me ready. Torsten was waiting right on time in front of our accommodation and we drove to our wedding beach in the wedding planner’s decorated vehicle. We were lucky enough to be able to get married on the deserted Anse Source d’Argent. The ceremony itself didn’t take very long and we toasted afterwards and enjoyed the moment. During the ceremony, we didn’t even notice that Torsten had taken any photos at all because he stayed inconspicuously in the background and yet (or precisely because of this) was able to capture all the moments and emotions perfectly. Afterwards, we took some photos at the wedding location and then drove on to other photo spots. We took a break over lunch, which we used to catch up with our unsuspecting families and closest friends. In the afternoon we met up with Torsten again and continued to take great photos until sunset. We spent the evening relaxing with some cool Seybrew on the balcony of our accommodation and talking to our loved ones on the phone. With all the joy and excitement, a nice dinner fell by the wayside.
We actually came across Torsten and his website more by chance when we were researching the Seychelles as a travel destination during the Corona period and ultimately it was Torsten’s “fault” that the Seychelles became our wedding location. As already mentioned, we had always wanted to get married just the two of us on a dream beach and had actually planned a trip to Hawaii this year, where we could have easily imagined a wedding. The pandemic threw a spanner in the works and we weren’t actually looking for an alternative wedding destination. After a newsletter drew our attention to the fact that the Seychelles were virtually Covid-free at the time and entry was possible without any problems, we started to do some more research. We came across Torsten’s website and from that point on it was clear that we absolutely wanted to get married in the Seychelles. These were by far the most beautiful wedding photos we had ever seen (we didn’t know our own yet ;-)). In the meantime, we have also been to Hawaii and we can say that the islands are also fantastically beautiful and have an incredible amount to offer. But they simply can’t compete with the beaches of the Seychelles and the unique atmosphere on La Digue. Looking back, we are therefore very happy that it turned out this way for us.
We have now been to the Seychelles 4 times and have visited Mahé, Praslin, La Digue, Cerf Island and Silhouette, as well as taking a few day trips to other islands such as Curieuse and Grande Soeur. Each island has its own special features and we really enjoy the great hiking opportunities on Mahé every time, for example, but no other island has the same great atmosphere for us as La Digue, where we spend most of our time on every trip.
We have already done this and plan to continue doing so. Since our wedding, the Seychelles are the only destination we have visited several times and plan to continue doing so. Although there are still many great places in the world to discover and we love traveling, we have an agreement that we have to go to La Digue at least for a few days every two years. The longing is just too great, especially when you also follow Torsten on social media and regularly see the great photos and videos there 😉 We would do everything the same again as we did on previous trips: spending most of our time on La Digue, enjoying lots of sunsets at Anse Severe and the authentic food from the take aways (our favorite is Rey & Josh), visiting the various beaches on bikes and on foot, making Grand Anse unsafe with my husband’s namesake, having a drink or two with locals at the jetty in the evening and of course a boat tour with Simplicity Boat Charter with great snorkeling spots and excellent beach barbecue on Grande Soeur are all part of the fixed program. And that’s when the longing comes over us again…
We would definitely recommend having your wedding accompanied by Torsten! Not only will you get fantastic photos from the best spots on the islands, but you can also rely on everything working 100% according to your wishes. You can just tell that Torsten puts his heart and soul into his job and his own joy in the ever-changing light conditions and the great colors of nature is simply infectious. We really enjoyed the photo days and it was totally relaxed (except for the sometimes somewhat strenuous scrambling ;-)). We would also recommend plenty of sunscreen with a high sun protection factor and would only advise against pompous wedding outfits with limited freedom of movement (at least if you also want to climb one or two rocks).
Because then they can be sure that their wedding day will be perfectly organized and that they will get the most beautiful wedding photos they could wish for. You patiently answered all our questions in advance, supported us perfectly in all aspects of the organization, are super flexible and respond to the individual wishes of the couples and are also a very pleasant contemporary 😉 Many thanks again and we are already looking forward to the next reunion on La Digue!
We can really recommend you from the bottom of our hearts and couldn’t have imagined our wedding any better. For anyone who is still thinking: just go for it! It was one of the best decisions we made and our great photos, which adorn our house on canvas or aluminum dibond in large format, remind us of this wonderful day every day!
