Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa

At the beginning of 2018, I was invited to take new advertising photos for the luxury hotel “Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa” on the dream island of Silhouette. Silhouette is the third largest island in the Seychelles and for me the second most beautiful island in the Seychelles. La Digue will probably remain my personal number 1 for a long time to come – but Silhouette is right behind it!

Silhouette is blessed with such a lush green nature that it is really hard to put it into words. You have to experience it live! Well over 95% of the island is untouched and natural. While the other main islands are unfortunately seeing more and more construction activity, Silhouette continues to lie dormant. A true Eldorado for nature lovers! It is not for nothing that biologists consider the island to be one of the most important biodiversity areas in the Indian Ocean!

In March 2018, the time had come: my “photo trip” to Silhouette began. At the jetty in the northwest of Mahé, from where you start your journey to Silhouette, I was initially a little perplexed when I was handed a map of the island, on which the hotel’s beautiful garden and beach villas are marked, among other things.

I studied the map and found all the villa numbers there – but not “my” villa with the number 501. Slightly confused, I approached the receptionist and asked whether I had been allocated a garden villa or a beach villa by the hotel management. “Neither! You are accommodated in Villa 501. This is our presidential villa!

I would love to have a video showing the look on my face at that moment. I’ve probably looked more stupid than I ever have in my life – and I can look really stupid if I want to! 😉

The two-storey villa offers just about every conceivable luxury on a whopping 1,200 square meters. The daily rate is currently 2,200 euros. I spent five nights in the beautifully situated presidential villa and spent the days taking great photos for the Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa to shoot!

The current photo of the week shows the presidential villa and its pool. Several people – including the head of PR and the island’s head chef – join me this morning to make sure we get great pictures of the “floating breakfast”, which guests can have delivered to their villa on request. And now guess who gets to eat the delicacies afterwards? Can you figure it out? 😀
