Anse Georgette – the most beautiful beach on Praslin

For many visitors, Anse Lazio is the most beautiful beach on the island of Praslin. Yes, Anse Lazio is beautiful – but from 10 a.m. at the latest until late afternoon it is so busy that you feel more like you’re in Playa de Palma than in the Seychelles.

The beautiful Anse Georgette is just a few hundred meters away as the crow flies. However, there is no easy road to take from Anse Lazio. You either have to walk the (beautiful, but strenuous and not entirely safe) footpath from Anse Lazio to Anse Georgette, which takes around 60 to 120 minutes, depending on your fitness level. Just a few years ago, a tourist disappeared on this hike and never turned up again. So it is anything but an “easy walk”.

The second option is access via the grounds of the beautiful luxury hotel “Constance Lemuria”. Here, however, you have to register several days in advance for the desired visit date and can then only hope that not too many other tourists have already registered for the same day. Access is only granted to a few visitors per day. If you register too late, you may be out of luck and not be put on the visitor list.

If you still want to go to Anse Georgette on the desired date, the footpath described above is for physically fit adults who are confident enough to venture off the paved paths. You will be rewarded with this phenomenal view shortly before the end of the walk (see photo)!

This is also one of my absolute favorite spots in the Seychelles for particularly unusual wedding pictures ! As I’ve been on a first-name basis with the hotel manager since my first stay at the Constance Lemuria, “my” wedding couples and I fortunately don’t have to take the time-consuming walk, but are picked up at the hotel reception in one of the hotel’s own vehicles and taken almost to the legendary photo spot. Life can be so simple… 🙂
