Probably no luxury island in the Seychelles has a greater aura than North Island. Whenever high-end luxury islands are mentioned, North Island is a must. And not just since Prince William and his Kate spent their honeymoon there in 2011.
Eleven luxurious villas are so perfectly spread out on “East Beach” that you can’t see your neighbor’s villa in the dense greenery. While villas 1 to 10 have to make do with a modest 450 square meters, the “top villa” number 11, appropriately named “Villa North Island”, has been given a whopping 750 square meters. Kate and William probably used this villa during their ten nights on North Island. However, it is impossible to say for sure, as the royals had rented the entire island at the time – and not just to keep curious paparazzi away.
As we all know, the couple’s wedding in April 2011 did not take place in the Seychelles, but in the venerable Westminster Abbey in London. William and Kate then spent their honeymoon in the Seychelles.
Michaela and Stephan Reisser – the owners of the Reisser travel agency, which has been specializing in luxury trips to the Indian Ocean and authentic safaris in Africa since 2012 – were kind enough to provide me with the photos they took there. All the photos you see in this post were taken by Michaela and Stephan Reisser (apart from the wedding photos, which were all taken by me).
