Interview with my bridal couple Marina & Christian

Interview with my bridal couple Marina & Christian

Marina and Christian from Erlangen tied the knot in the Seychelles at the end of January 2022. During the wedding ceremony in the morning it was still very overcast, but as the day progressed it cleared up and the sun showed its best side.

They were the fourth couple to receive and complete my questionnaire on the subject of “Weddings in the Seychelles”. Have fun reading!

01.
Why did you get married in the Seychelles and not in Germany?

We didn’t want a classic wedding/family celebration and the day “just” for us.

02.
Where to put the wedding dress during the flight? And which airline did you fly with?

In a foldable garment bag in your hand luggage. The flight was from Frankfurt with Condor.

03.
How did you like your wedding? How was the wedding ceremony and what did you do after the ceremony? In short: What was your wedding day like?

The wedding ceremony was beautiful right in the morning at Grand Anse. We then spent the whole day on a photo tour, starting in the north of La Digue.

04.
Was it complicated to get married in the Seychelles? Which documents were required? Was there a "paper war"?

Necessary documents were an extended registration certificate/celibacy certificate to show that we are single. Also an international birth certificate and our passports. Lastly, a Civil Marriage Registration Form from the Seychelles.
Basically very uncomplicated.

05.
Did everything work as you had imagined?

Yes!

06.
Why did you decide to have me photograph your wedding? How did you come across me?

About the WDR report on the Seychelles. Torsten immediately came across as very likeable and his homepage and public photos were very professional and appealing to us.

07.
Do you like the pictures?

Yes, very much!

08.
Which photo spots did you particularly like?

Of course, especially Anse Source D’Argent, Petite Anse and the great Muscat Trail 😉

09.
Were there any experiences/places/situations during our photo tours that you particularly like to remember?

All of them! But especially the trail mentioned above, as it was very rewarding to “fight” our way to the photo spots.

10.
Which hotel on La Digue did you book? Would you recommend it to other travelers?

Le Domaine de L’Orangeraie on La Digue. It is definitely recommendable even if we unfortunately had some organizational problems on site on the day of arrival (thanks to Creole Travel via TUI), the stay over two weeks was great – after it had cleared up.

11.
Which islands of the Seychelles did you visit and where did you like it best?

We were on the inner islands of La Digue, Praslin and Mahè. We were particularly taken with La Digue and the island flair there.

12.
Are there any hotels that you would like to mention in a particularly positive light? Have you also come across accommodation that you would advise against?

The restaurant at Le Nautique is particularly noteworthy on La Digue! Very tasty food!

13.
Will you visit the Seychelles again? If so, what would you do differently from the previous trip? And what would you do again if necessary?

Yes, we will certainly be there again. As before, we would aim for a balance of relaxed hotel and beach days and hiking/hiking tours. But possibly visit other hotels on Mahè, this time more in the south.
Those who can afford it and want to take the helicopter instead of the ferry 😉

14.
Why should couples who want to get married in the Seychelles use my services?

Because Torsten is professional and super likeable. Always helpful with words and deeds and delivered an impressive result!

15.
What advice would you like to give to couples who would like to get married in the Seychelles in the near or distant future? Do you have any recommendations that you would like to get rid of?

Enjoy the time! The Seychelles are a true paradise!
