A relaxed way to travel to a wedding on La Digue: by traditional oxcart! 😀
In this photo, Andrea and Gaston are sitting on Danny’s oxcart as he drives them to their wedding at Anse Source d’Argent. Danny picked them up exactly one hour before the ceremony at their accommodation Le Domaine de L’Orangeraie – the accommodation that most bridal couples choose on La Digue.
Of course, you can also walk or take a motorized cab if you wish – but most couples opt for the oxcart. In the next few days I’ll show you a photo where you can see more of such an ox cart – and of course of the ox… 😉
[Edit April 2019: In the meantime, the ox carts have all but disappeared. Animal welfare has prevailed; in the meantime, only a few wedding couples still opt for the oxcart]
