The slide tour takes you through two very different island states in the Indian Ocean that are geographically part of Africa. The Seychelles, one of the smallest countries in Africa, is one of the most prosperous countries on the continent, while Madagascar is one of the poorest countries in the world.
The Seychelles are certainly one of the most beautiful island paradises in the world. Fantastic beaches with bizarre granite rocks characterize the landscape of these tropical islands surrounded by turquoise sea. The coral reefs are teeming with colorful fish. Many of the islands are populated by huge colonies of seabirds. In the jungles in the interior of the island of Praslin grows the Coco de Mer, a giant palm tree with the largest leaves and the largest nuts in the world.
Even the name Madagascar is magical. Madagascar became known as a spice island and pirate hideout. Diverse landscapes, from rainforest to semi-desert and tropical coasts, provide habitats for the unique flora and fauna. Over 80% of the animal and plant species only occur here. Lemurs, chameleons, carnivorous pitcher plants and the surreal-looking baobab trees are among the special features.
