I’ve been back from my 15th Seychelles trip since Wednesday and during the last five days I had my dear Seychelles friend Robert Agnes, the well-known tour guide from La Digue (see Nature Guide La Digue), for a visit. Robert had a lot of new impressions to process:
For the first time in his life, Robert has left the Seychelles – and this means a new chapter in his life, so to speak. The flying alone, the traffic on the German autobahn and the “crowds” at Düsseldorf airport were something of a “culture shock” for him. After arriving in my home village, things calmed down again and Robert visibly blossomed. A joint mountain bike tour through our beautiful forests, the subsequent extensive visit to the beer garden and the experience of an insane shooting party were just a few of the highlights that Robert will probably be talking about for a long time to come! I always had to smile at his astonished observations and the sometimes very “cute” questions. I could really write a book about these five days together in Germany… 😉
But I definitely don’t have time to write a book at the moment, because over the next few days I’ll be busy editing the pictures from the wedding of Kerstin & Sören, who got married at the end of June with 19 guests on La Digue – more precisely on the offshore mini-island “Robinson Island”. After the wedding, we took the entire wedding party to Grande Soeur (“Big Sister Island”) for a wedding lunch, where we of course also took photos.
While sorting through the wedding pictures for the first time, I just remembered that a fairy tern briefly kept us company during the photo session (see top edge of picture). The fact that fairy terns live monogamously fits such a wedding photo like a glove, doesn’t it? 😉
