Elisabeth and Sonny from Vienna got married at the end of October 2025 on La Digue and hired me as their wedding photographer for this unique day. From the wonderful ceremony at Anse Union to the great weather and the concluding “wedding barbecue” under the starry sky on the beach, everything was perfect!
The two of them were kind enough to fill out my little questionnaire after their honeymoon. Thank you very much, Elisabeth and Sonny! Best regards to Vienna!
We wanted a stress-free wedding that would still be very special for both of us. Since we love to travel, it quickly became clear that we wanted a wedding abroad—ideally on the beach—with a civil ceremony that would also be legally valid in Austria.
After doing some research and getting in touch with you, the Seychelles turned out to be the easiest and simplest option. It was important to us not to be tied to a hotel, to have a beautiful backdrop, and to choose a place we hadn’t been to before so we could make new memories. The Seychelles seemed perfect for that!
We flew with Emirates from Vienna via Dubai to Mahé, then continued with Air Seychelles to Praslin and finally took the ferry to La Digue. My wedding dress was in a garment bag as hand luggage. The cabin crew stored it hanging up (on Emirates), and on Air Seychelles and the ferry I kept it on my lap. I had made an advance request online with Emirates and the “special” piece of hand luggage was noted in our booking – everything went smoothly.
Our wedding day was simply perfect—more beautiful than we could ever have dreamed. We started at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast together, then the hairdresser came and helped me with my hair. I did my own makeup while my husband got ready in the other room. We had an apartment with a kitchen-living room, which made everything very relaxed.
My husband was picked up at 10 a.m. because he hadn’t seen the dress yet and wanted to have the “first look” on the beach. At 10:15 a.m., I was also picked up—both of us in the wedding planner’s golf cart. The ceremony began at 10:30 a.m., accompanied by music we had chosen ourselves.
After the ceremony, we enjoyed some time entirely to ourselves: champagne, dancing on the beach, and our first moments together as a married couple. From around 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., we had our first photo shoot. After an afternoon break at our accommodation, we went to the sunset shoot at 4:30 p.m., and ended the day at around 6:30 p.m. with a delicious BBQ on the beach, which the wedding planner organized for us. An all-around relaxed, unforgettable day!
No, it wasn’t complicated at all—quite the opposite, in fact. We simply picked up the certificate of no impediment and the extracts from the birth register, each with an apostille, from our registry office in Vienna and sent them to the Seychelles by DHL. That was all there was to it.
Yes—even better and easier than we had imagined. The necessary documents were taken care of in advance. We chose the music at home. Two to three days before the wedding, we met Torsten and his wedding planner in person and discussed everything—the schedule, decorations, music, dinner. For the decorations, we showed a few sample photos from the internet or from Torsten’s previous photo shoots; the same applied to the bridal bouquet. After that, everything was perfectly organized. No stress, no effort on our part.
We happened to see a television documentary about the Seychelles in which you appeared—just as we were looking for a suitable wedding destination. It was like a sign! We contacted you, you responded quickly, and immediately gave us a good feeling.
We were impressed by the fact that we could book everything directly without an agency and had complete freedom in choosing the wedding venue. You also offered to assist us with any questions we had about the Seychelles—not just about the wedding, but also about travel planning—and that’s exactly what you did.
Since we deliberately chose to get married alone, it was particularly important for us to have a good photographer so that our loved ones at home could share in our special day afterwards. Your work spoke for itself, and it was precisely this combination of reasons that led us to choose you.
Absolutely!
It’s hard to say exactly, because every spot is unique in its own way. La Digue simply offers the perfect backdrop—no matter where you are.
The whole atmosphere was incredibly relaxed and friendly. It wasn’t stressful at all—even though we’re not really the typical “photo people.” It was really fun with you!
And if it meant climbing up rocks where you thought you wouldn’t make it, or waiting ten minutes for a cloud to pass, then it was definitely worth it – the result speaks for itself!
We stayed at Mazu Guesthouse and would book it again in a heartbeat. If we are drawn back to the Seychelles in a few years – perhaps for a wedding anniversary – we will definitely stay there again.
We deliberately didn’t want a five-star hotel, but rather private accommodation, and we couldn’t have done better. The owner couple were incredibly welcoming – we have rarely received such personal attention – and nowhere else on the island did we have a better dinner than here!
We were on La Digue, where our wedding took place, as well as on Praslin and Mahé. We liked it best on La Digue – relaxed and laid-back, everyone rides bikes, the beaches are beautiful and everything is very manageable.
Definitely the Mazu Guesthouse on La Digue – an absolute recommendation.
On Praslin, we spent our honeymoon at the Constance Lemuria and deliberately treated ourselves to a five-star hotel with half board – fantastic.
On Mahé, we stayed at the Seaboard Apartments – spacious apartments and a very good restaurant!
Overall, it was a very good mix of different accommodations, all of which we can recommend.
Definitely! Next time we would plan to spend most of our time on La Digue again, but we would also explore Praslin more intensively as we mainly enjoyed the luxury hotel area this time. On our next visit, we would rather book a guesthouse there and explore the island by bus or rental car. On Mahé, we would possibly visit Beau Vallon and the north, but we skipped that this time. Overall, however, we would do a lot of the same things again.
Because everything simply fits: the quality of the photos is first-class, you are extremely friendly, respond quickly and reliably and have a wealth of island know-how. In addition, you work perfectly with the wedding planner – you get everything from a single source. You can turn to you with any question and you always have the feeling that you can rely on you completely – and that’s exactly what you want for your wedding and honeymoon.
Organize your wedding through Torsten and his wedding planner, and trust them. They know exactly how everything works and really take everything off your hands. Tell them what you want – and then just let them do it. It will be perfect.
We can also highly recommend SeyVillas for accommodation and transfers.
