As a wedding photographer in the Seychelles, I’ve covered over 350 weddings so far—and the number keeps growing every year. I’m usually on assignment as a wedding photographer on my favorite island, La Digue, but of course I’m also available for weddings on Praslin, Mahé, Silhouette, and all the other islands in the Seychelles. In March 2021, I worked as a wedding photographer at Frégate Island Private for the first time, and I’m still raving about my three-day stay. What a paradise! The island’s natural beauty almost “overwhelmed” me. A stay there is very expensive, but worth every penny. Now all that’s missing to complete my “island wish list” is a booking as a wedding photographer on North Island Seychelles.
The first broadcast of the WDR television program “Wunderschön – Traumziel Seychellen” (hosted by Tamina Kallert), in which I can be seen for 90 minutes as a wedding photographer in the Seychelles and guide Tamina and the filming team as an “island expert” about the Seychelles, was of course a special “boost” in 2017. Since then I have been receiving several inquiries a week from wedding couples from German-speaking countries who are getting married in the Seychelles and would like me to photograph them.
Just one year later, I was featured on SAT.1 in the travel program “Grenzenlos – die Welt entdecken” as a wedding photographer in the Seychelles, which of course also gave me another boost. Und so “richtig rund” geht es nun seit dem 03. Oktober 2024. An diesem Tag war ich im ZDF bei “Hallo Deutschland” als Hochzeitsfotograf auf den Seychellen zu sehen. Erst gestern (22. Mai 2025) lief eine Wiederholung im ZDF.
In addition, I am the only wedding photographer in the Seychelles living in Germany who is the director of a company in the Seychelles and has the official work permit (“GOP”) of the Seychelles. Diese Arbeitsgenehmigung ist als Nicht-Staatsbürger der Seychellen nicht ohne Weiteres zu bekommen, aber zwingend notwendig, um Eure Hochzeit auf den Seychellen legal fotografieren zu dürfen. Da immer mehr Fotografen aus dem Ausland (vor allem aus Deutschland und Österreich) einreisen, um ohne gesonderte Genehmigung Hochzeiten auf den Seychellen zu fotografieren, wird nun versucht, dem Ganzen “einen Riegel vorzuschieben”. So make absolutely sure that your wedding photographer (if he is not a Seychelles citizen) has an official Seychelles work permit if you want to be sure that the photographer will not be prevented from entering the country at the airport after landing in the Seychelles and sent back home! It would not be the first time this has happened.
The bridal couples affected by this were suddenly left without a photographer and had to spontaneously find another photographer on site. I myself am not permanently on location – and if I am, as a wedding photographer in the Seychelles I am usually fully booked months in advance. So in your own interest, make sure early on that you are not suddenly involuntarily “photographerless”!
